Sekolah Tinggi Perikanan Hatta-Sjahrir (Hatta-Sjahrir Marine Sciences and Fisheries College) is a higher education operating under the Banda Cultural and Heritage Foundation (YWBB) and the Higher Education Service Institute (LLDIKTI) Region XII Maluku and North Maluku. The establishment of STP Hatta-Sjahrir in 2001 in Banda was motivated by the socio-economic problems that hit Maluku in 1999. At that time, many bandanese youth wanted to continue their studies but they were constrained by economic problems. Several Banda community leaders finally came up with the idea of establishing STP Hatta-Sjahrir with two main study programs: Marine Resources Management and Marine Cultivation. These two study programs were expected to make a major contribution to Banda community’s knowledge development.

In 2022, YWBB has made the transition from STP Hatta-Sjahrir to Universitas Banda Naira (Banda Naira University). To learn more about the university, please click here to visit their website.
